admission criteria

The Manager or Assistant Manager will assess all potential Residents prior to admission.

Once the assessment has taken place and all parties agree that the Home can fully meet the potential Resident’s needs, admission to the Home will be arranged subject to appropriate funds being in place.

An initial Care Plan will be drawn up, prior to admission where possible, which will be completed in close consultation with the Resident and their loved ones. This care plan will be kept under constant review as the Resident's needs change and again will be amended in consultation with the Resident and their loved ones. We work hard to ensure that the Resident remains at the Home should their condition deteriorates and they require increased levels of attendance. Unlike some other homes we do not operate fees which increase dependent on assessed levels of care - we charge a level fee which remains the same (subject to annual review) throughout the Resident's time with us.

Being a small home we have an in depth understanding of each of our Residents, their likes, their dislikes and their needs. Central to our ethos that Waters View is their home. We pride ourselves on our individually tailored approach to care - 'big enough to cope, small enough to care'.

We strongly recommend all potential service users and their relations or representatives visit us to see what the Home can offer.

A contract will be drawn up for you to read and sign, with a copy for you to keep for your records. In the case of an emergency admission or any other unusual circumstances, an initial Care Plan will be compiled in the first 48 hours after admission.

Permanent Residential Care Waters View offers permanent residential care for the elderly who need support, be that physical and/or mental, including dementia.

After a pre admission assessment a care package is written in close conjunction with the Resident and their loved one to ensure that they are provided with the very best, individually tailored care taking into account their individual preferences and needs.

We operate a waiting list, subject to a deposit, should we be unable to offer a permanent room immediately and can offer day care whilst our prospective Residents awaits a room.

day care Waters View offers day care for the elderly who need support, be that physical and/or mental, including dementia.

This service can assist those who would benefit from time spent in the company of other elderly people, the stimulation of new faces, friendly conversation and activities coupled with the attention of a dedicated team of professional carers.

This service provides welcome respite to those who care for an elderly relative or loved one as this can be a very demanding and tiring role and a day's 'break' proves itself to be so positive to the part time Resident and carer alike. The day's package will be individually tailored, again with an individually tailored care plan, to your timing requirements and will provide meals and can provide personal care, including assisted bathing.

Respite Residential Care Waters View can offer respite care (when a room is available) for the elderly who need support, be that physical and/or mental, including dementia.

This service can assist those recuperating from a hospital admission, when their carer(s) are away or when they or their carer(s)/family could benefit from a break. In the latter example the Resident often comments that they are on a holiday in a 5* hotel!

As with permanent placements a care plan will be drawn up in close consultation with the Resident and their loved ones, again individually tailored.
