Introduction to the Team at Waters View
We have a well trained, experienced and loyal Care team, many of whom have been at Waters View for many years, with the longest serving member of staff being with us for over 19 years!

Waters View is owned by Andy Bradshaw; it was his private home before the conversion to a Residential Home. He has over thirty years experience of owning and operating a care home.

Andy is assisted with the daily running of the Home by Tracey Cooper who is the Care Supervsior. Tracey holds a NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social care, as well as doing numerous courses in specialised areas such as care planning, dementia, challenging behaviour and diet and nutrition. Tracey has been with us for over 14 years so she knows the Home, Staff, Residents, Families and Health Care professional really well.

There are four Senior Carers. Bev is our day care Senior and she and Tracey lead the day shift team. Chris, Jane and Chantal lead the night teams. They are responsible for the home in the Care Supervisors absence and are all at least NVQ2 qualified. All our Senior team do training above the mandatory requirements in areas such as medication, first aid, fire awareness, record keeping and care planning. They also organise the day-to-day delivery of care to the Residents and support the care staff in their development.

There are nine further Care Assistants, who deliver care to our residents under the guidance of the Care Supervisor and seniors. Most of these have been with us for a number of years so they too know the Home, Staff, Residents and Family well. Many hold NVQs in Health and Social Care and the Social Care Certificate. As well as the mandatory training many do extra courses in areas such as anxiety, pressure sore care, challenging behaviour and dementia.

We have a co-worker or buddy system which teams up each resident with one of the staff who gets to know that resident extra specially well. They are also responsible for the over cleanliness and tidiness of the room and perosnla belongings and liaising with the Senior responsible for the care plan to make sure that is always fully up to date with likes and dislikes.

We have two cooks, who provide home cooked meals, made from fresh local produce and keep the kitchen up to regulation standards. With all our cooking on site we can cater for everyone’s needs, likes and concentrate on good quality food and snacks to ensure weight maintenance and usually gain with all their yummy cakes! Again Marie and Rhonda have been with us for a number of years.

All of our staff are permanent employees, we do not and have never employed Agency Staff.

We have a handyman who carries out small general repairs and maintenance of the building and grounds. He will also be pleased to help you personalise your room by such things as hanging pictures on your walls.

Laundry is done by the care staff. Please ensure all clothing is colour fast, machine washable and clearly named before admission.

Although all staff have specific roles and responsibilities, the emphasis at Waters View is very much on team-working towards the common goal of providing the very best in care to our Residents.
